Whenever I wander past a bag/purse store there’s some gravitational pull that forces me to go inside. I know it’s very female of me, but I just love bags. Despite only buying a new one last week, I was forced by my insatiable obsession to wander into another bag store today. I was having a look around and the woman in the store directed to me to a display of Guess bags.
Holy beep.
Over the past few months I’ve noticed more and more Guess bags around - but NEVER have I seen so much ugly in one place. Concentrated evil. Oh how the pleather shone and the glitter burned into my retinas. For the life of me, I cannot understand the appeal of these ghastly things.

Overkill much? I don’t know what exactly they’re trying to achieve. I assume they’re supposed to look “designer” and not like someone threw up a pile of ugly and put straps on it. With a $300 price tag on several of them in the store, I am honestly ashamed of the female gender for forking out that kind of money for a plastic bag. They’re the type of bag I’d expect to see draped over the arm of a middle-aged woman with bleached blonde hair, excessive tan and hot pink claw-like nails.
Perhaps the most disturbing thing of all was that the Guess bags in this store were CHAINED TO THE DISPLAY CASE. I’m talking chains with big-ass padlocks. What kind of deluded criminal would want to steal something that hideous? :[
Needless to say I didn’t leave the store with a Guess back in tow. However, I wasn’t empty handed and I’m quite happy with my plain, boring GENUINE leather caramel Colorado purse.

Roflll, those bags are hideous..
But imagine this scenario.
Cold dark night, you’re walking down the street and someone goes to rob you.
A few beatings over the head with something with that much metal and the bastard won’t be getting back up. =|
Either way your metal is ugly. >>

Sometimes I just go look at purses to see the new crazy ideas they’ve passed on as fashion. It must be the same thing that happens to you! And rarely is any purse there actually something I’d want to buy. That’s why the purse I have now is falling apart. I may go on a search for one on the Internets.

I’m actually not much of a purse person. I own some, but every one of them was a gift. I have NEVER bought a purse for myself. Sad I know. I just don’t like carrying them around, I feel like its extra baggage and sometimes I forget I have it and leave it at different places. (has happened twice!) I only have my trusty wallet with me and its good enough.
But I can tell what you mean about the overkill on those purses…sheesh, I don’t think that middle one has enough buckles. LOL.

hi. i think this site is really scary. not just because this silly person has my name but because they seem to hate everything i like… sure, Guess bags arent totally original anymore but some are really nice and just because your one person in the world who doesnt like them doesnt mean your cool. in fact i think your the opposite. you obviously don’t deserve the most awesome name ever because you are obviously the sort of person who thinks “the internet is not real” and likes recipes that sound gross like “Bacon cob loaf”. NOT HAPPY JAN.

If you saw how well she gave it. Then you’d know how true that statement was.
